Nhuubala Yugal Education Centre: Content & Public Relations Officer

No. of Positions: 1

 

Purpose: As the leading Content & PR Officer for NYEC, you will be involved in both writing content and developing and managing PR campaigns to spread awareness of the educational disadvantages and challenges faced by rural youth.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with the team and our partners to develop a marketing strategy

  • Developing blog posts to spread awareness of disadvantages in rural education for NYEC’s website 

  • Research on the rural education landscape and continue to be up to date on the changing situations to create original content for NYEC’s website 

  • Monitor with website metrics to create strategies that ensure our engagement and interaction levels continue to increase

  • Develop and run public relations campaigns targeted towards bringing awareness to the disadvantages and challenges of rural education 

  • Liasing with external communication sites to spread awareness of NYEC 

  • Create a targeted pitch towards different media arms to spread awareness of NYEC 

  • Attend regular team meetings (virtual conference calls or face-to-face)

  • Assist in the strategic development of the project

  • Offer new ideas to improve the project and increase social impact

  • Assist in managing the NYEC website including maintenance to ensure the website is up to date and is running smoothly

  • Assist in SEO optimisation and developing strategies to improve NYEC’s ranking in search engine results

Key Skills & Competencies:​​

  • CommunicationHigh level of oral and written communication skills. Uses communication skills to clearly and confidently deliver information to a variety of audiences.

  • Teamwork: Demonstrates optimism, respect for others and the ability to work well in a team and across functions.

  • Interest in social justice: An understanding or a willingness to learn of social justice issues present in rural education.

  • Content creation: Previous experience in creating social media content or blog writing or currently studying a Marketing or Media degree.

Preferences:

  • Currently studying a Marketing/Media or Journalism degree

Women's Creative Hub: Business Development Member

No. of Positions: 2

Purpose:

As the Business Development Member, you will improve the sustainability and expansion of the Women’s Creative Hub by generating opportunities for the women and interacting with various stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Seeking and establishing partnership and sponsorship proposals for the Hub and presenting to external stakeholders if required

  • Finding and applying for grants

  • Taking lead on strategies to expand our reach in the refugee community 

  • Implementing and keeping track of metrics to track success

  • Occasional attendance at the Hub to understand the beneficiaries

  • Managing administrative tasks such as inbox management

  • Assisting with tasks on an adhoc basis

  • Liaising with various teams in Enactus to improve opportunities for the Hub 

  • Ensuring content is professional, best-practice and consistent in execution

Key Skills & Competencies:​​

  • Communication: A large part of the role includes interacting with our Hub women and other stakeholders, thus they must be able to have competent interpersonal skills.

  • Teamwork: Demonstrates optimism, respect for others, and the ability to work well in a team across functions. 

  • Interest in Social Justice: An understanding or willingness to learn of social justice issues for our Hub women.

Period Impact Australia (PIA): Product Development Member

No. of Positions: 1

Purpose:

As the Product Development Member, you will do research into product development for an enterprise that aims to reduce period poverty. This includes brainstorming product ideas, researching into details for product development such as manufacturers, materials, processes, viability of product ideas etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Taking lead on research to expand and progress our project 

  • Implementing and keeping track of metrics to track success

  • Reporting to the team on developments throughout the week

  • Attending a weekly team meeting with the enterprise leaders

  • Liaising with various teams in Enactus to gather information and contacts for Product Development

  • Ensuring research is detailed and in depth to allow for leaders to decide how to move forward with the project

Key Skills & Competencies:​​

  • Communication: A large part of the role includes interacting with our Hub women and other stakeholders, thus they must be able to have competent interpersonal skills.

  • Teamwork: Demonstrates optimism, respect for others, and the ability to work well in a team across functions. 

  • Interest in Period Poverty: A passion for or interest in learning about period poverty in Australia

Value: 

  • Playing an important role in the development of a sustainable product that funds education programs to empower rural high school students to learn more about their menstrual health and wellbeing

  • Being a part of a community of driven and passionate students

  • Establishing connections with our Business Advisory Board which has members from HSBC, NSW government, Qantas and much more

  • Developing the ability to communicate with other networks in the social enterprise field using the Enactus name

  • Being able to have your ideas implemented and seeing the impact they have
