Waste2Resources
Our Purpose

The Waste2Resources project aims to address food waste on campus by connecting partners at Macquarie University who are interested in helping divert food waste from the waste stream and back into the campus space. These partners have tailored interests within the process and include Faculties such as the Education Department and Gumnut Cottage (Day Care Centre).
We will set up a collection system for food waste from these Early Education Centres and use this food waste to create compost, leading to the creation of Indigenous Flora gardens at the involved education centres.
Once the success of the project has been evaluated through waste audits, traffic inflow and surveys by students and staff, it will be pitched to the University Executive to be implemented on a larger scale across the campus.
